These weedguards open automatically when the boat is moving forward, as well as when moving left or right.
They close as soon as the boat stops and/or when moving in reverse.
When reversing, there's a risk of your line being sucked into the engines if you don't maintain tension. These intelligent weedguards virtually eliminate that risk.
Incidentally, if you install fixed weedguards, the engines lose power due to them, hence the intelligent design of these new weedguards.
